Basic Electronics Workshop


Objectives
  • Hands on training on electronics
  • Raise student interest on electronics field
  • Involve students with practical work as well as academic activities
  • Create a platform for students to find out their regular project partner
  • Prepare students to compete on junior level project competition
Requirements
  • No prior knowledge on electronics is required
  • Must be a student of EEE or CSE department
Program outline
  • Introducing with common laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, signal generator, trainer board, DC power supply, multi-meter etc.) and their using methods
  • Introducing with some basic electronics and electrical components (diode, transistor, MOSFET, capacitor etc.) and their applications
  • Introducing with some basic sensors (LDR, PTC and NTC) and their application
  • Introducing with some most common IC (timer IC and voltage regulator IC) and their applications
  • Introducing with switching device (relay) and it’s application
  • Projects using basic electronics and electrical components
  • Projects related to academic syllabus (220V AC to 5V DC power supply)
  • Discussion on difficulties about practical works and resolving problems
Outcomes
  • Students will get clear knowledge on basic electronics component and their use in real life
  • Students will get practical experience of solving real life problem with electronics
  • Students will be able to make their own electronics project
